Worth a Nickel

by PastaDude

Worth a Nickel introduces a new mineral, nickel, found in the overworld and in the Nether, and a set of coins and tools made from it.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.8

What it does

Nickel ore generates commonly in the overworld, starting near layer 6. Nether nickel is rarer and appears in basalt deltas. Both can be smelted into nickel that serves as a crafting material for blocks such as pillars, stairs and bricks, as well as nickel coins.

A Forging Table is a new workstation. Placing one lets a villager take on the Toolshaper profession. That villager replaces emeralds with nickel coins in its trades, and the coins can be obtained only through his trades, with four per exchange. Tool molds for axes, swords, pickaxes, shovels and hoes let players create tool sets from a single unit of material, and nether nickel is used for tools and armor sets.

Installation covers the server and each player's game. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.8, and is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
