Worldgen Patches
by Apollo
Worldgen Patches corrects several small world generation quirks in vanilla Minecraft, from Jagged Peaks stone faces to snow layers under trees.
What it does
The patches target a handful of minor world generation issues rather than adding new biomes or structures. Steep surface rules in vanilla cause Jagged Peaks stone faces to appear on certain sides, and the mod changes that rule. Snow layers are adjusted so they generate correctly beneath trees, and igloos no longer produce a trapdoor basement.
Beached shipwrecks are also corrected, so they keep their intended heights and block palettes consistently across chunk boundaries. The mod is server-side only, which means players join without installing it and only the server runs it. It requires Fabric API on Fabric, and files are published for Fabric and NeoForge across 16 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2, with the latest files for 26.2 dated 2026-07-11.
The source code is open and the mod is released under the MIT License. Both loaders share the same feature set as far as the author notes describe.
Key features
Jagged Peaks stone faces
Adjusts the steep surface rule so stone faces stop appearing on north and east-facing slopes of Jagged Peaks.
Snow layers under trees
Snow layers now generate correctly beneath trees instead of being placed in the wrong spots.
Beached shipwreck heights
Beached shipwrecks keep consistent heights and block palettes across chunk borders.
Igloo basements removed
Igloos no longer generate a trapdoor basement, leaving the structure as vanilla intended.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want vanilla world generation to behave more consistently without adding new content. Players on a server that runs it need nothing installed.
