Improved Village Placement
by Apollo
Forces villages to spawn on flat ground: Improved Village Placement limits village generation to relatively level terrain, affecting vanilla and modded villages alike.
What it does
Villages generate only where the terrain is relatively flat. The restriction applies to vanilla villages as well as villages from modded world generation projects such as ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing it. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and Lithostitched and Fabric API are required on Fabric.
Key features
Flat-terrain placement
Villages spawn only on relatively flat ground, so settlements appear on open plains rather than steep slopes.
Modded village support
The placement rule covers villages from other generation mods, not only the vanilla village structures.
Settlement spacing on open land
Because steep slopes are skipped, settlements cluster on level stretches of the map where building is practical.
