Withering Inventory

by edshearing

Withering Inventory makes items in a player's inventory lose durability over time, including the armour being worn, for NeoForge 1.21.4.

NeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.21.4

What it does

Every 20 ticks, the entire inventory, including worn armour, loses one point of durability on each item unless the item has the Unbreaking enchantment. Players who carry tools, weapons or gear have to account for that wear while they play. The server and every player need the mod installed. The loader is NeoForge, and it is published for 1.21.4 only, with the 1.2.0 file as the latest build from 2026-04-27. The code is covered by All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Ticking durability loss

Items lose one durability point every 20 ticks, which is about one second of game time.

  2. Armour included

Worn armour is affected in the same way as the items held in the inventory.

  3. Unbreaking respected

Items with the Unbreaking enchantment are spared from the loss, so enchanted gear wears more slowly.
