Fake Features

by edshearing

Fake Features adds decoy blocks, mobs and villagers that look ordinary but behave as traps when a player touches or breaks them.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Most of the content is built around deception. Fake trees, logs, grass patches, stone, sand, ores and deepslate look like their vanilla counterparts, yet breaking or interacting with them can summon zombies, silverfish, bats, skeletons or creepers, set fire, or drain experience. Fake redstone and lapis ore drop items that clog the inventory or take away XP over time, and fake diamond ore drops dangerous imitation diamonds.

The mod also adds a fake pig that attacks when struck, a fake creeper that follows players across a wide range and can explode repeatedly, a fake villager that turns into a hostile villager on right click, and a hostile villager that throws potions, attacks with emeralds and breaks blocks. It is intended for pranks between friends in survival and adventure play, and it runs on Forge for 1.20.1 only, on both client and server, so the server and every player need it. The license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Trap blocks

Fake logs, trees, grass, stone, sand, ores and deepslate look like vanilla blocks but trigger effects when broken.

  2. Decoy mobs

A fake pig, a fake creeper and a fake villager each behave differently from their vanilla versions.

  3. Hostile villager

The hostile villager attacks with emeralds, throws potions and breaks blocks, and avoids iron golems.

  4. Item and XP drain

Fake redstone and lapis ore slowly push items into the inventory or take away experience over time.
