Why Do You Burn?
by Rosenoire
Fireproof blaze, magma and end items are kept intact by this Fabric mod, so they survive lava and fire instead of burning away.
What it does
Certain items react to fire and lava differently once the mod is installed. Items that would normally burn up in a fire or lava pool stay intact instead, which lets players keep them after a blaze fight or a lava encounter.
The mod targets only items on Fabric, and the author backports updates to earlier releases when a new game version arrives. No required dependency is listed for Fabric.
Both the server and every player need the mod, since the environment is client and server. Builds exist for 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, and the latest file is 1.2.0 for 1.21.11, released on 2026-01-31. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Fireproof blaze items
Blaze-derived materials stay intact when they are exposed to fire or lava.
Fireproof magma items
Magma-derived materials are protected from burning, so they can be kept in lava-adjacent builds.
Fireproof end items
Crying Obsidian, Dragon Egg and Dragon Head are included in the list of protected items.
Backported updates
The author backports updates to earlier game versions when a new release arrives, so older builds receive the same item behavior.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Lava-based farms
Players who build near lava or fire can keep blaze and magma materials from being lost during the process.
Nether collection
Items gathered in the Nether can be stored near heat sources without being destroyed.
Who it’s for: Players on Fabric who want blaze, magma and end items to survive fire and lava, on both single-player clients and multiplayer servers.
