WhiteScreen

by luxfirostudios

WhiteScreen holds every player on a loading overlay until the whole group is ready, so a server can start an event for everyone at once.

FabricForgeClient and serverCustom license1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

When an operator starts a session, each connected player sees the same title, progress bar and status text in real time, and nobody enters the world before the others are ready. The overlay is synchronized across the server, which suits hardcore communities and scheduled events where a late player would otherwise miss the start.

Players who join while a session is pending wait in a queue, and staff can hide administrators from the pending players list through a dedicated whitelist. Titles, tips and player limits can be changed live with a full command set, and the settings are stored in a JSON configuration file.

WhiteScreen is published for Fabric and Forge, with builds covering 1.20.1 – 1.21.1. Installation is required on both the client and the server, because the two sides exchange the synchronization data. The license is custom and the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Synchronized waiting overlay

A shared loading screen keeps every player waiting until the group is ready, then releases them together.

  2. Live status display

Each player sees the same title, progress bar and status line update in real time during the wait.

  3. Stealth staff mode

Administrators can be hidden from the pending players list through a specialized whitelist.

  4. Dynamic presets

Operators can switch between built-in visual themes such as GTA, Left 4 Dead, Modern and Eufonia.

  5. Live command suite

Titles, tips and player limits can be customized through commands without restarting the server.

Use cases

Scheduled hardcore starts

A server can hold every player on the overlay until the event begins, so no one starts early or late.

Organized events

Event organizers can use the waiting screen and stealth staff mode to run a start sequence without showing their presence.

Who it’s for: Server owners and event organizers who run synchronized starts for hardcore communities or professional events. Players need the mod too, since it runs on both the client and the server.

Questions

Does WhiteScreen have to be installed on both sides?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which loaders does WhiteScreen support?

WhiteScreen is published for Fabric and Forge. Forge files currently target 1.20.1, while Fabric files target 1.21.1.

Where are the settings stored?

Options persist in a JSON file, while live commands adjust the titles, tips and player caps during a session.
