WebDisplays [2.0] REMASTER

by Xmutsix

With WebDisplays REMASTER, a screen in the world can show a live web page, and the browser engine is supplied by the required MCEF dependency.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.21.1

What it does

WebDisplays REMASTER places web screens inside the game, so a player can open real Internet pages on a block-built display instead of a blank panel. This unofficial remastered take on the original WebDisplays was reworked to fix game-stopping problems present in earlier 1.21.1 builds. Its browser engine comes from MCEF, which must be installed next to it for the mod to work.

The mod ships a cloud-based Dynamic Hub that serves as the start page for each new screen, and its content can change without a new mod file, so new apps and features can appear over time. Typical uses include mini-games, HTML5 games such as Geometry Dash, and tutorial or music pages shown on a wall while building. The project is built for NeoForge and targets Minecraft 1.21.1 only. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Live web screens

Interactive web screens render at the size set by the player, so pages can be read and used inside the game world.

  2. Dynamic Hub start page

Each new screen opens a custom start page hosted in the cloud, which changes as new apps are added.

  3. Mini-games and HTML5 games

Pages such as Geometry Dash and other HTML5 games can be played directly on an in-world screen.

  4. Fixed keyboard input

Typing no longer produces doubled characters, and keyboard input is reported as crisp and responsive.

  5. Working laser pointer

The laser pointer draws a visible red beam and registers clicks on screens at a distance.

  6. English and Russian text

Full localization covers the interface in English and Russian.
