We Like Those Ores

by joaofeijao

We Like Those Ores adds the Lushite ore, niobium ore changes and new armor, decorative blocks and items to the 1.20.1 Forge game.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

The mod is built to add ores that fit the vanilla style rather than reshape it. Lushite is a rare ore found only in lush cave biomes, and it can be crushed into a powder. Niobium ore is rarer and sits in the same layers as diamond ore, and it offers better enchantability than diamond with lower durability than netherite. The author describes the balance goal as adding content without making the game unbalanced.

Lushiobium is an alloy made by mixing niobium ingots with Lushite powder at a workbench. It is used at a smithing table with a piece of niobium armor to upgrade it, a process that resembles the netherite upgrade but takes its material from a lush cave. Version 0.6 also adds decorative grid blocks and fixes several bugs.

The mod runs on the client and the server, so both need the Forge build for 1.20.1. It is published under the MIT License and is not open source. Its author suggests pairing it with world generation mods such as Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Quark and SimpleOres, and notes that more ores are planned.
