Visible Suspicious Stew

Suspicious stews hide their effect until eaten, so a player cannot tell what a bowl will do before consuming it. Visible Suspicious Stew reveals that information in the item tooltip: the effect ID, its duration, and the detail needed to judge the stew before using it. The tooltip is injected into the inventory view for the held item, so nothing extra has to be opened.

The mod also changes how a suspicious stew looks, overriding its texture according to the effect it grants, so the bowl's appearance hints at its contents. Using a texture per effect means the visual cue matches the tooltip information. The mod is published for Fabric alone and depends on Variants CIT to swap textures, so the texture change requires that library in addition to the mod itself.

Visible Suspicious Stew is a client-side only mod, so only the client needs it, and it changes nothing on a server. It is released under the All rights reserved license and is not open source. Installation places the mod in the mods folder before launching the game, and the mod also needs NebsConfigLib for its configuration. The author states it works on 1.21.8, and that other versions may not work with the latest build.
