VR Jester API
by Caliburs
VR Jester API is a Caliburs library for recognizing VR gestures from Vivecraft controllers, with the gesture events exposed to other mods through one interface.
What it does
Gestures are defined and matched against tracked VR devices, which report their position, rotation and proximity. A gesture is built in one of two ways, and the recognizer reports each gesture once its pattern completes. Event handling is wired through the event bus on Forge and NeoForge and through a callback interface on Fabric and Quilt, so a mod author can respond to a recognized gesture without writing platform-specific tracking code.
The API runs on the client alone, so it is installed only on the client side and not on a server. Its required dependencies are Architectury API, Fabric API, MC VR API, Quest: Rebound, Questbind and Vivecraft; Questbind is needed only when QuestCraft is used. Files cover 1.16.5 – 1.21.1 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source. Snapshot builds are not published.
The author plans continuous gesture recognition and more configuration options in future releases. Configuration files are generated on first launch.
Key features
Gesture recognition
Gestures are matched from the movement of tracked VR controllers and headset devices over a set time window.
Gesture command
A gesture can be triggered through a command, which helps when testing a gesture without wearing the headset.
Proximity checks
A gesture can require that a device stays within a given distance of a component, such as a controller near the player's body.
Duration settings
Each gesture part has an elapsed time in milliseconds, so a value of 2000 means that part lasts two seconds.
Event callbacks
Recognized gestures are delivered as events, letting other mods react to them without polling the devices.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.

How it compares
ViveCraft Compat is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.18.2 – 1.21.4, so it covers the same loaders with a wider version span. Vivecraft TB Compat is client-side only, open source under the ISC License, and available only on Fabric for 1.18.2 – 1.20.4. tweak-api is an optional client or server mod under the Apache License 2.0, published only for Fabric, so it works in a different role.
