VLib
by G_Mungus
VLib is a utility library for Valkyrien Skies addons, with shared functions that other ship mods can call from their code and datapacks.
What it does
The library covers several separate areas. A collision fix changes how players move through tight vertical openings such as trapdoors on rotated ships. Per-dimension settings let a datapack set the default ship gravity and ship scale for each dimension, and the same values can be read or changed in code through the dimension settings manager.
Other parts serve structure builders. Data-driven features can make Minecraft or datapack structures generate as ships. The game utilities provide assembly with or without a blacklist, and they can read and save ship structure templates. Modpack makers and mod developers are the intended audience, along with players who want these behaviors on a server.
VLib needs Fabric API and Valkyrien Skies. It is published for Fabric and Forge under the Apache License 2.0 and is open source. The server must run it, while players may add it; a client without it can still join. Files exist for 1.20.1 only, the latest being 1.20.1-0.1.1 from 2025-12-25, on the beta channel. Four other catalog mods require it.

Who it’s for: Mod developers building Valkyrien Skies addons and modpack makers who want consistent ship behavior across dimensions.
How it compares
Vtil is client and server, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and covers 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge. VS2 for Complete Config is also client and server and open source, but it is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. VLib differs by being server-required with an optional client, and by using the Apache License 2.0.
