Vinyl Revival

by HollowStudio

Vinyl Revival adds a Disc Burner and Turntables, letting players engrave their own music discs from a blank disc made of refined Plastic.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient or server, optionalAll rights reserved1.19.4 – 26.1.2

What it does

Blank music discs are crafted from refined Plastic, which is smelted from Raw Plastic, a new resource found in the Nether. A Disc Burner block engraves a blank disc into one of Minecraft's vanilla music discs, so the crafting system can produce the same records the game already has. Once a disc is made, it plays in the classic Jukebox or in the new Turntable.

The Turntable is a block that plays discs with an animated spinning vinyl. Turntables are recommended to sit at least 8 blocks apart, since closer placement can cause slight sound overlap and minor audio issues. Keeping that distance is advice, not a requirement.

Vinyl Revival is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across seven game versions, 1.19.4 – 26.1.2, and it is not open source. Either side can run it, and neither needs it: it works on a client alone, a server alone or both.

Questions

Which loaders does Vinyl Revival support?

Vinyl Revival has files for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. The latest Fabric file is 0.3 for 1.21.10, the latest Forge file is 0.3 for 1.19.4, and the latest NeoForge file is 0.3 for 26.1.2.

Does the server need Vinyl Revival installed?

No. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so the server can run without the mod and players can add it alone.

How far apart should Turntables be placed?

The author recommends at least 8 blocks apart. Closer placement can cause slight sound overlap, and keeping the distance avoids the minor audio issues.
