New Shears lets players craft wooden shears from simple materials at the start of a survival world, so wool and leaves can be gathered before iron is available.
What it does
Wooden shears are craftable early, which removes the wait for iron shears when a player is still gathering basic materials. Wool, leaves and other materials come off faster, so early progress is less interrupted by collection. The mod targets the first stage of survival, where resources are scarce and each step costs time.
Speedrunners and casual players can both use it, since the shears are a short recipe away and need no advanced materials. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, covering the 1.20.1 – 1.21.4 range. Either side can run it and neither needs it, so a player may use it on a single-player world or a server alone. The mod is licensed as All rights reserved, so its code is not open source.
