With VinURL, a custom music disc can carry a YouTube or file-hosting link, so a Jukebox plays the linked audio.
What it does
The mod lets a player write a YouTube or file-hosting URL onto a custom music disc, and a Jukebox then plays that link as audio. Audio is pulled from the supported providers with yt-dlp, which is released under the Unlicense, and sound is extracted from the media with FFmpeg binaries under the MIT License. A JavaScript engine named deno, also under the MIT License, runs the yt-dlp solver scripts. Those external programs are fetched in the background, and by using the mod the player accepts that automatic fetch and use.
VinURL needs Fabric API, Forgified Fabric API, Sinytra Connector and oωo (owo-lib) to start. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is available for Fabric and NeoForge across 26 release versions, 1.19.2 – 26.2, and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0, so it is not open source. Client-side settings can be changed through a configuration screen opened by a slash command.
