[VIME]Visual Iron's Mobs Edit

by sal-fish

[VIME]Visual Iron's Mobs Edit gives mobs a visual GUI for choosing which Iron's Spells n Spellbooks spells they cast in game.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Through the in-game interface, a mob receives a configured list of spells from Iron's Spells n Spellbooks, so mobs can cast them during fights. The spell chosen on each Cast Decision pass depends on a weight. The default interval for that decision is 0.5 seconds, and weights are adjusted by the target distance, the mob's health and whether the target is already controlled. Before a spell fires, the mob's target must lie inside the spell's minimum and maximum cast range, the mob's health must fall within the spell's required range, and its mana must cover the spell cost.

Each spell carries its own cooldown, and a failed cast adds a 4-second blacklist. Attack-control spells also require a line of sight to the target. A spell that fails its own condition is excluded for that pass, while the other eligible spells are still drawn. Installation runs on Forge and NeoForge, and the mod is shared by the server and every player, so both sides need it. Files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the code is all rights reserved, not open source.

Key features

  1. In-game spell assignment

A visual GUI lets players assign Iron's Spells n Spellbooks spells to mobs without editing data files.

  2. Weighted spell selection

Each spell gets a weight across five roles: Attack, Defense, Mobility, Control and Summon, and one spell is drawn per decision.

  3. Per-spell cast conditions

Range, health, mana, cooldown and line of sight are checked for each spell, so an unmet spell is skipped without blocking the rest.

  4. Health-based panic behavior

When a mob's health drops, the weights shift toward defensive and mobility spells, and the panic threshold is configurable.

  5. Control target handling

A target already under control lowers the weight of further control spells, which keeps mobs from piling on effects.
