ViaFabricPlus lets a Fabric client join servers from almost every Minecraft version, from Classic and Alpha through Beta and Release builds.
What it does
The mod builds on the ViaVersion plugin and attaches a translation layer to the client, so the game can talk to servers that run older protocols. Fixes are added on top of what the original project handled, covering movement, block and entity interactions, and graphics, so older servers play closer to their original behavior. The result recreates the classic experience on a current client.
ViaFabricPlus is a client-side only mod for Fabric and Quilt, and it does not run on the server itself. Only the player's client needs it, and servers do not have to install anything to accept connections. Multiplayer is the only target: singleplayer worlds are not affected. Files are published for Minecraft 1.19.3 – 26.3 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Support for Bedrock Edition servers and Realms comes from a separate addon that builds on ViaBedrock. Mojang releases are usually supported within a few days of appearing. The mod cannot be expected to be accepted on every server: some may flag it with anti-cheat plugins, so it is used at the player's own risk.
