Verdance
by Team Abode
Verdance adds new overworld biomes, a set of mobs and blocks, and a complete wood set for Fabric and NeoForge worlds.
What it does
The mod expands the overworld with new biomes, blocks and quality-of-life content. Mulberry Forest is a mountain biome holding its own mobs, including a wolf variant and a unique tree type, and Shrublands is an arid biome filled with shrubs, flowering shrubs and armadillos. Town Ruins are ancient structures found in deserts and shrublands, where players can dig up pottery sherds and music discs.
Installing Verdance requires Biolith on both loaders, and Fabric API on Fabric. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge across four game versions, 1.20 – 1.21.1, and the code is not open source; the source code and issue tracker are public, while the license is All rights reserved.
Key features
New biomes
Mulberry Forest and Shrublands add terrain with their own plants, animals and blocks to generate in the world.
Complete wood set
A full set of wood blocks is included, covering the types a builder needs for structures.
Silk Moth mob
A friendly Silk Moth spawns in Mulberry Forest, adding a passive creature to the mountain biome.
Shrubs and cantaloupe
Shrubs come in two flowering variants, and cantaloupe grows as a crop in savannas and shrublands and can be crafted into other foods.
Decorative blocks
Dyed stucco blocks come with stair, slab and wall variants, and cushions are functional blocks players can sit on.

Use cases
Exploring new terrain
Players travelling beyond familiar biomes find Mulberry Forest and Shrublands with their mobs and structures.
Building with new materials
Builders use the wood set, dyed stucco and cushions to decorate houses and villages.
Who it’s for: Players who want more overworld biomes and decoration on Fabric or NeoForge, and server owners who add content for every player on their world.
How it compares
Mystic Shrubs is a Fabric and NeoForge mod for 1.21 – 1.21.5, released under the MIT License and open source, and it covers shrubs rather than whole biomes. World Expansion is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and is client and server. Still Life is not open source, with files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the server needs it while clients may skip it.
