Vanilla Pings
by crossyl
Vanilla Pings lets players mark a location in the world with a ping, using a hotkey that is set to Z by default.
What it does
When a player presses the ping key, the mod places a marker at the spot the player is looking at, and other players see it. The marker is built from an armor stand that glows and wears a highlighted block, so it stays visible at a distance. Only the server needs the mod for pings to work; players may add the client part to use the hotkey and the key binding in the Controls menu under Options, in the Vanilla Pings category.
The mod can be set up on a server without any client installation, and it offers spectators a way to see the invisible armor stand and its highlighted block. Server owners can change the message text, choose the language through a vanillapings language command, and decide how command feedback and admin command logging behave, following the usual game rules. Deleting the configuration file regenerates the defaults on the next restart, while a reload applies only the values already in the file.
Vanilla Pings is published for Fabric only, with builds covering 1.19.2 – 26.3, and its latest file is 1.11.1 for 26.3. The code is open source under the MIT License, and snapshot builds are also published.
