client side /ping

by xKzuto

Client side /ping adds a ping command that players run to check latency, their own or another player's, on Fabric.

FabricClient-side onlyCC0 1.0 Universal1.21.4 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod gives players a /ping command that shows latency for the player running it, for another player, or for the server. It is a client-only mod: only the client needs it, and servers run without it. Builds cover 1.21.4 – 1.21.11 on Fabric, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file, released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which is not open source.

Key features

  1. Own ping check

Running the command reports the latency of the player's own connection.

  2. Other players' ping

The command can also show the ping of another player on the same server.

  3. Server ping check

The command reports the latency to the server, without requiring any server-side support.

Questions

Does Client side /ping need to be installed on the server?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.

Which game versions does Client side /ping support?

Files exist for 1.21.4 – 1.21.11 as listed in the release versions, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest Fabric file in the alpha channel.

What the author says

A client-side mod that adds a /ping command to check your own ping or other player's ping without requiring server-side support This is very unstable and unreliable I suggest to not use it in server's which are running on latest minecraft versions
