Useful Spears

Useful Spears changes how spears behave in the game, letting a fully charged spear launch the player much like a Riptide Trident, even without rain.
What it does
The mod adds Rain-Free Riptide, so a spear enchanted with riptide can carry a player forward without rain or water. A fully charged spear worn with Elytra can also launch the player through the air. Wooden and Netherite spears gain their own ability in the vanilla spear set.
The mod runs on client and server and works in both single-player and multiplayer. Both the server and every player need it installed. It also works with Works With Spears. Builds are published for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge, under a custom license that is not open source.
The project is maintained by Nouridin, with public links for the source code and the issue tracker. Fabric and Quilt files were last updated on 2026-09-16, and the NeoForge file is a beta release for 26.2 from 2026-08-01.
