Useful Minerals

by iceave

Useful Minerals adds tools made from copper, quartz, emerald, amethyst and sculk shards, crafted with a stonecutter from the matching ingots and gems.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.21 – 1.21.1

What it does

Copper and quartz tools need their respective shards, and the mod supplies a stonecutter recipe that turns a copper ingot or a quartz block into one copper shard or one quartz shard. Emerald shards follow the same pattern from emeralds. Copper tools take breeze rods in place of sticks, which is the only change to the copper recipes.

Amethyst and sculk tools draw on amethyst shards and echo shards, so the materials already in vanilla Minecraft become the crafting inputs. The tool recipes are laid out like the vanilla tool recipes, which keeps the mod simple to learn. The mod runs on Fabric for 1.21 and 1.21.1, and the latest file is 1.1.1 for 1.21.1. It is released under the MIT License but is not open source, and it needs nothing beyond Fabric itself, since it adds no dependencies.

Key features

  1. Copper and quartz shard tools

Copper and quartz tools are made from their shards, which a stonecutter produces from the base material.

  2. Emerald shard tools

Emerald shards are made from emeralds with the same stonecutter step, and they form the material for emerald tools.

  3. Amethyst and sculk tools

Amethyst shards and echo shards supply the amethyst and sculk tools, using materials that appear in vanilla survival play.

  4. Breeze rod copper tools

Copper tools use breeze rods in the handle position instead of sticks, a change from the vanilla tool recipe.

What the author says

This mod is extremely simple and easy to understand and get used to. Copper and Quartz need their respective shards to make all the tools. To make Copper and Quartz shards, simply put a Copper Ingot in a Stonecutter to make 1x Copper Shard. For Quartz shards, you need to put Quartz in a Stonecutter to make 1x Quartz…
