What it does

Ruined Laboratories appear as modest overgrown buildings in some overworld forests, and occasionally larger ones serve as outposts. Inside them players find remains of technologies developed while studying the realm, and a trading Apprentice Cartographer sells Laboratory Plans that point to other laboratories. Reaching the Nullspace starts from a home base where experiments are sorted, and its main room holds a working computer whose Experimental Module opens a rift command that leads to the Nullspace Portal.

The Nullspace is sparsely filled and bounded by strange pillars built from decorative blocks. Those blocks are mostly ornamental, though some resources and a few recipes are useful. Living Code is a rare mineable resource, and accidentally interacting with it can wake a dormant creature that moves randomly and is hard to get past. Gooey blocks can also trap a careless visitor, and players who dive in should watch where they step, since some areas teleport them. Once players reach the Nullspace they can explore, obtain and upgrade new devices, and the mod is published for NeoForge only. Unusual Adventures requires no other mods, is released under All rights reserved, and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Ruined Laboratories

Small overgrown structures and larger outposts hold the remains of research and devices from the Nullspace studies.

  2. Nullspace dimension

A portal reached through a computer rift opens into a sparse dimension with pillars and decorative blocks.

  3. Living Code creatures

Mineable Living Code can wake a creature that wanders randomly and makes the Nullspace a difficult place to explore.

  4. Program Disks and commands

Program Disks open more features and commands, and a disk panel appears when a turned-off computer is sneak-right-clicked.
