Ultimate Map Atlases
by Nanaky
Ultimate Map Atlases lets players craft atlases that store several maps, so exploration can be tracked from one item.
What it does
Atlases are crafted from a slimeball, a honey bottle, an empty map and a book, and the new atlas item stores maps in one place. Other atlases behave like normal maps. Players add maps to an atlas with a cartography table using sticky material, merge atlases together, or remove maps with shears at the same table. The mod also changes how the atlas texture is shown, and shift with right click cycles through its states.
The mod works together with Compass. A minimap HUD can be rendered while the map is open or in the hotbar, and it needs a compass somewhere in the inventory, excluding containers such as bundles. The cardinal directions depend on the compass as well. An optional diegetic option replaces the old configuration screen, so settings can be changed through the item itself, and the HUD can be shown or hidden. Serilum's GUI Compass pairs well with the changes.
Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is published for Fabric only, in five game versions: 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, with 26.3 as the latest file from 2026-09-16. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the project credits the original MapAtlases idea for its structure.
