TraditionalCraft

by milkyang

TraditionalCraft brings ancient Chinese elements into Forge through fireworks, medicinal pills and boss fights against the Nien and GoatEmperor.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Crafted fireworks and firecrackers are the core of the mod's content. Glow Gunpowder Ore is found while digging deep underground, and the gunpowder it yields can be turned into several kinds of fireworks and firecrackers. The theme follows ancient technology, and some of the items are meant for combat while others are meant purely for display.

Medicinal herbs have direct effects, and several also carry extra properties. Combining identical herbs extends the duration of an effect rather than raising its level, though four identical herbs raise the level by two. Snow lotus and licorice slice have their own rules, with the slice making effects last longer, and some pills restore health or grant night vision and strength. Two bosses sit in the mod's progression: the Nien, a year beast that emits flames, and the GoatEmperor, which a player creates by feeding a goat a special pill.

The mod is installed on the client and the server, with Forge as its loader. It is built for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and its license is the MIT License, so the code is not open source. It requires Curios API, Geckolib and Patchouli to run.

Key features

  1. Fireworks and firecrackers

Crafted fireworks and firecrackers come from Glow Gunpowder, which is mined from an underground ore.

  2. Medicinal herbs

Herbs such as snow lotus and licorice slice have direct effects and extra properties that depend on how they are combined.

  3. Nien boss

The Nien emits flames that cause explosions, so players are advised to prepare flame and explosion protection before the fight.

  4. GoatEmperor boss

A goat fed a special pill transforms into the GoatEmperor, which fires magic balls, summons llamas and charges at the player.
