Time Core
Time Core is a library for Forge and NeoForge that developers use to build animated Bedrock-style entities and to simplify mod development on Minecraft 1.20.1.
What it does
The library provides a JSON-based animation system that parses Bedrock animations for entities and tile entities, and it can render Bedrock JSON entity models created in Blockbench. Developers can play complex animations on entity and tile entity renderers without writing the parsing code themselves.
An on-the-fly blockstate and model generator creates simple item and block models and blockstates, so those resources do not have to be written by hand. A configuration builder offers a more convenient way to define config files, while a safe network system guards against packets sent to the wrong side and a reflection helper makes fields, methods and constructors reachable when a mod accesses them through reflection.
Time Core runs on client and server, so both sides need it. It is published for Forge and NeoForge on 1.20.1 only, with the 3.11.0.0 file dated 2024-02-13. It requires Kotlin for Forge, and its code is covered by All rights reserved rather than an open source license. Public source code and an issue tracker are linked.
Key features
Bedrock JSON animations
Entity and tile entity animations are parsed from JSON, and Bedrock JSON entity models can be loaded for rendering.
Blockbench model support
Models exported from Blockbench can be used for entity and tile entity renderers.
On-the-fly model generation
Simple item and block models and blockstates are generated at run time, so no resource files need to be placed.
Configuration builder
A builder API structures config definitions, making config files simpler to create than hand-written code.
Safe packet handling
Network packets are checked so that packets sent to the wrong side are not processed.
Reflection helper
Fields, methods and constructors accessed through reflection are made reachable without manual setup.
