CC - Complementary Core

by ElAguilaMC623

CC - Complementary Core is a library mod for Forge and NeoForge, providing helpers that other mods build on for recipes, loot tables, datagen, tool tiers and weapons.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19 – 26.2

What it does

Developers get a set of utilities covering recipes, loot tables, datagen methods, blockstates and item models. A registry helper adds a new tool tier and a tool set with far less code, and a TieredWeaponBuilder registers a new weapon type that picks up the same material tier automatically.

The library also adds new biome tags covering biomes from Biomes O'Plenty, Regions Unexplored and Terralith, along with support for custom structures and biome modifiers. Three mods in the catalog already require it, including CS - Complementary Structures, CTW - Complementary Tools & Weapons and The Boreal, so anyone using them gets it as a normal dependency. The mod adds no gameplay content of its own.

Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 21 release versions, 1.19 – 26.2, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Client and server both need it, since the content it provides has to match on both sides.

Key features

  1. Recipe and loot helpers

Utilities for writing recipes and loot tables, so mods can define them with less boilerplate.

  2. Datagen and model methods

Helper methods for datagen, blockstates and item models, reducing repeated setup code in mod projects.

  3. Tool tier and tool set registry

A registry helper creates a new tool tier and a matching tool set, built with much less code than doing each part by hand.

  4. Automatic weapon registration

TieredWeaponBuilder registers a new weapon type that matches the tier of the weapon it is built from.

  5. Biome tags and structures

New biome tags cover biomes from several worldgen mods, and custom structures and biome modifiers can be added through the library.

What the author says

This is a core mod for all my mods. The mod does not add any new gameplay content, its only a library mod that anyone can use and makes some things for developers much easier. This library-mod adds several new utilities for developers, such as helpers for recipes, loot tables in datagen and methods for blockstates…
