Timber
by Fayber
Timber lets a player break a single log and have the whole tree come down, fungi and mushroom trees included.
What it does
Breaking one log of a tree fells the rest of it in one action, and floating tree tops are removed as well, so no leftover branches are left behind in the air. The idea follows the classic Vanilla Tweaks Timber datapack, rebuilt as a Fabric mod. Fabric API is required, and the mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything.
Felling can be tuned in depth. Server owners choose which axe tiers may fell trees, and the extras can be switched on or off: leaf decay, automatic replanting, gradual chopping that takes the tree down piece by piece, and costs to hunger. Tool wear is reduced by the Unbreaking enchantment. The mod is published for Fabric across 26.1 – 26.3, with files for 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, and it is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later as open source.
Key features
Whole-tree felling
Breaking a single log brings down the connected trunk and branches, including fungi and mushroom trees.
Floating tree tops
Canopy sections left in the air are removed too, so the job finishes cleanly after the trunk falls.
Axe tier selection
Server owners decide which axe tiers are allowed to fell trees, limiting the feature to chosen tools.
Optional extras
Leaf decay, auto-replanting, gradual chopping and hunger costs can each be enabled, and axe durability respects Unbreaking.
Adjustable settings
Most behavior can be adjusted in the config file, so each server can set the felling rules it wants.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who want a tree-felling feature with clear rules, and players who gather large amounts of wood on those servers.
