With This boat is MINE!, a player can Shift + Right Click to pull any mob off a boat or other vehicle it is riding.
What it does
The mod only affects mobs that are riding a vehicle, and leaves the normal interaction with them unchanged. Shift + Right Click removes the rider, so a boat can be cleared of a passenger without any command or menu.
The code is small, with only five lines in the main class. The mod has no configuration file and no settings to adjust. Players can install it, use it, or delete it at any time.
Installation needs Architectury API on every loader, and Fabric API on Fabric. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with the latest Fabric, Forge and Quilt builds at 1.0.1 for 1.21.1 and NeoForge at 2.0.0 for 1.21.1.

Clearing a boat
A player with a mob sitting in their boat can remove it with a single Shift + Right Click, without leaving the boat.
Who it’s for: Players who ride boats or other vehicles with mobs aboard, and server owners who want a simple way for players to clear a passenger. Either side can run the mod alone, so a server install alone is enough.

Boat Step Up is a Fabric mod for 1.17.1 – 1.19.2 under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and its client is required with the server optional. Chest Boat Patch is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and built for Fabric across 1.19.2 – 1.21.6.
