The Occult
by WebCreature
The Occult introduces demons, rituals and dark magic to Minecraft through orbs, cursed items, a bedbug mob and occult structures to explore.
What it does
Occult structures are large, looming buildings that contain a parkour course. Completing the course in order yields loot, and that loot includes Bewitchment Orbs, which are found only inside these structures. Players spend these orbs to enchant weapons and trinkets, and bewitched items gain special abilities, sometimes with a curse, and can change appearance.
The mod adds cult and dark magic themes to the base game, along with many new decorative blocks. A new mob, the bedbug, appears when players try to sleep in an unlit bed and is shaped like a tangle of tentacles. It is not dangerous by itself, but its bug vibration ability works like the warden's, drawing nearby mobs toward it, so it should be killed quickly. The Occult requires Geckolib, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1, and the license is All rights reserved; the mod is not open source.
