The Mortis Dimension

The Mortis Dimension is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that adds a new dimension players enter after dying and must escape from.
What it does
After a player dies, the mod sends them into Mortis, a dark and dangerous world. The player has to find a way out, and escaping means defeating a new boss called the Umbra Lich. The dimension is meant for players who want a harder challenge, with terrifying mobs and new items added along the way.
The mod needs GeckoLib to run. The server and every player need the mod installed. Files are published for Forge 1.20.1 only, with 1.2.1 as the latest release from 2024-10-25. The code is under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source.
Key features
Mortis dimension
Death sends the player into a separate world where escape is the goal, and the player can only leave by defeating the boss.
Umbra Lich boss
A new boss named the Umbra Lich guards the way out of the dimension and must be defeated to escape.
New mobs and items
Several new creatures and items are added, including shadow blocks and creepy crunching enemies introduced in later updates.
Harder gameplay
Dying becomes a bigger risk, since the mod turns the cost of death into a long fight for survival in a dark place.
