The Lovable Chest

The Lovable Chest is a Forge storage mod that adds a chest-like companion creature which carries items for its owner, along with a related Hutch companion.
What it does
Chester and Hutch are companion mobs modeled on the characters from Don't Starve Together. Each one acts as a portable chest that stores items, and it follows its owner around as a kind of backpack. Only one of each can be active at a time, and a newly crafted item replaces control of an already spawned companion. Both regenerate passively, and they drop their stored items when they die, so they need to be kept safe.
Items used to summon, place or recall a companion spawn it on the ground, and it can be punched, holding items included. Companions despawn if left behind. Versions below 1.19 replace the Goat Horns recipe ingredient with Quartz. The mod is published for Forge only, across 4 release versions 1.18.2 – 1.20.1, and it needs to be installed on both the client and the server. It depends on Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it.

Chester stores items for its owner and follows them, so the owner has a chest that moves with them.
Hutch companion
Hutch is a second companion with the same item storage role, and only one companion of each type is active at a time.
Passive regeneration
Chester and Hutch regenerate health passively, with a maximum of 50 HP (25 hearts).
Crafted control items
New items are crafted to summon the companions, and crafting a new one takes control away from an already spawned companion.
