The Darkworld Dimension

by ThirtyFangs

Darkworld Dimension adds a separate dimension reached through purple stone portals, with its own biomes, mobs, blocks, enchantments and items, and servers need it installed.

What it does

Portals made from purple stone, found in the overworld, open access to the Darkworld dimension. The way back is a second portal inside the dimension, so a visitor has to locate one to leave. Purple stone also serves as the fuel for Darkworld portals, and the blocks that make up the portals resist breaking. The dimension is generated through datapacks, so it is built from the world's data rather than from code added to the game.

Darkworld carries new biomes, including cold areas, along with blue ghosts that roam haunted ships and the haunted house, and a giant armored piglin called the Knight. Structures include a Swamp Temple, where a gigantic enchanted book can be found, and a Haunted Ship, where an unbreakable elytra and new boots can be crafted. The mod requires the Area Protection datapack or mod and a resource pack to be present.

Key features

  1. Purple stone portals

Portals built from purple stone lead into the dimension, and purple stone powers them.

  2. Flying boots

Pegasus Boots let the wearer fly from point to point without climbing or descending on their own.

  3. Enchantments and gear

A Gigantic II enchantment makes a helmet slightly bigger, and an unbreakable Darkworld elytra is among the new items.

  4. Haunted structures

A haunted house and haunted ships hold blue ghosts, and a Swamp Temple is the only place that holds the gigantic enchanted book.

Questions

Does The Darkworld Dimension need Area Protection?

Yes. Area Protection is required as a datapack or mod, and a resource pack is also required, so both should be installed before the world loads.

Do players need the mod installed to join a server?

No. Players can join without it, since the server carries the mod and clients may add it, though the server itself must run it.

Which game versions does Darkworld Dimension support?

Builds exist for 1.21.4 – 1.21.11, and snapshot builds are published, with 1.1+mod for 1.21.11 as the latest file on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

In the catalog
