Terrible Costumes

by Knarfy

Terrible Costumes, a NeoForge Cursed mod by Knarfy, gives players a set of joke costumes that each bring their own item and a few behavior changes.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.21.8

What it does

The mod turns a collection of costume ideas from Knarfy's Halloween video into playable options. Each costume comes with related items, and a few create effects that change how the costumed player is treated, such as Template Man, a sheep or skeleton that wolves will attack, an Arctic Fundy costume that brings cold, Cut Copper that behaves like copper, Wardens that count the player as a friend, and a Master Chief costume that includes an energy sword.

Three commands handle the setup. The costume command gives a player the correct costume items, the costumeIntroFunctionality game rule shows some introductory messages on screen, and setjoinlocation sets the spot where a party joins, which the joinparty command then uses. The mod runs on NeoForge 1.21.8 only and is released under the MIT License. It is not open source. Client and server both need it, so the server and every player install it.

Key features

  1. Joke costume collection

Costume ideas from the Halloween video are added as wearable items, each tied to its own theme.

  2. Mob reactions to costumes

Some costumes change how wolves and wardens respond to the player, such as a sheep costume drawing wolf attacks.

  3. Costume command

A command gives a player the correct costume items for the costume they choose.

  4. Party spawn setup

A set join location lets the joinparty command send players to the correct party spawn.
