What it does

Slimes generated by the mod are a modded entity that matches the vanilla slime in appearance. When a vanilla slime spawns, it can be swapped for a tameable variant, with a default chance of 66 percent controlled by a game rule. Taming works by feeding a slime a Slime Item or Block. Once tamed, the slime can be set to follow its owner or to stay within a 10-block area around the owner, and the follow mode is toggled from the owner's menu.

Tamed slimes can be healed, recolored and given Turkish-language name options. Dyeing works by applying a dye, and two dyes can be mixed using RGB values. Color can be removed as well. Collecting slime material takes five minutes with an empty hand, a glass bottle or a water bottle, and a slime killed by a player can drop a living slimeball with a default chance of 15 percent, also controlled by a game rule. Nine living slimeballs crafted in a Slime Mixer produce a living slime block. Placing that block breaks it and spawns a tamed slime owned by whoever placed it.

The mod is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, and runs on client and server. Both the server and every player need it. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and its source code is open source.

Key features

  1. Tameable vanilla slimes

Vanilla slimes spawn as tameable variants at a configurable rate, and taming uses a Slime Item or Block.

  2. Follow and area modes

Tamed slimes follow their owner or stay within a 10-block area, and the mode can be toggled.

  3. Dyeing and color removal

Dyes recolor tamed slimes, two dyes can be mixed by RGB, and the color can be removed again.

  4. Living slime blocks

Living slimeballs dropped by slimes are crafted into a block in a Slime Mixer, and placing it spawns a slime owned by the placer.
