Subtly Dungeons
With Subtly Dungeons installed, Minecraft gains features that Mojang scrapped or only used in spin-offs such as Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends.
What it does
Subtly Dungeons is an unofficial sequel to Minecraft that brings canon concepts from abandoned vanilla ideas and spin-off games into the base game. Its stated goal is to add pieces to the existing world rather than overhaul how Minecraft plays, following a design approach the author calls Vanilla Parity, in which new blocks, mobs, biomes and mechanics are built to feel as if Mojang added them.
The mod is a Fabric world generation mod that needs Fabric API. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Fabric across six release versions, 1.21.10 – 26.3, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is open source. The latest Fabric file is 5.0.1 for 26.3, published on 2026-09-24.
Key features
Sleep without losing spawn
Players can sleep through the night and rain without resetting their spawn point, which suits long expeditions away from a bed.
Hunting and foraging
Herds can be tracked and chased down as they run, and forests offer mushrooms to forage, some of them poisonous.
Campfire changes
Campfires are crafted unlit and are lit with flint and steel or by rubbing sticks together.
Biome-based fishing
Fishing takes longer and is no longer random, and each fish lives in specific biomes, such as salmon in rivers, cod in cold oceans and tropical fish in warm seas.
Ambient sound and music
Soft breezes, howling winds, reactive screen shake during lightning and new tracks from several Minecraft composers add to the atmosphere.
