StickyKeys

by melncat

StickyKeys is a client-side utility that keeps chosen keys held down so the player can step away from the keyboard.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyMozilla Public License 2.0Open source1.20 – 26.3

What it does

Holding a key by hand for long periods gets tiring, so StickyKeys lets a chosen key stay pressed after it is pressed once. The held state ends when the player presses Escape. Held keys also keep working while the game window is minimized, which suits leaving a character running in the background.

Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it and players join without installing anything. It requires Architectury API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 14 release versions, 1.20 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.

Key features

  1. Sticky key toggle

A chosen key stays held down after one press, without any need to keep the physical key pressed.

  2. Released with Escape

Pressing Escape ends all held keys, so the player can always stop the sticky state.

  3. Background holding

Held keys continue to act while the window is minimized, useful for idle or AFK play.

What the author says

Tired to having to manually hold down space, left click, or some other button while afk? StickyKeys allows you to let go, and have the mod hold down those keys for you! Simply hold down the keys that you want held down, then press the stick keys button (default: K)! All active keys will then be held for you, until…
