What it does

Stick n' Stone adds sword weapons built from wood and stone materials, with their own textures and models that are independent of other sword content. It needs Better Combat on every loader, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player must both have it. The mod is published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with the latest Fabric file for 1.21.1 dated 2025-07-07.

The mod is developed by Pigfection, and its custom license does not make it open source, though its source code and issue tracker are publicly linked. Its first release was on 2024-03-04 and the most recent update is dated 2025-07-18. Addons such as Swords extend the weapon set with more Wood Stone variants. A resource pack based on Vanilla Style textures served as a baseline reference during development.

Key features

  1. Wood and stone swords

Sword weapons crafted from wood and stone, filling the early-game gap between vanilla tools and later swords.

  2. Tooltip information

Swords show tooltip details on their stats, so the values are visible in the inventory without outside references.

  3. Original textures and models

Textures and models belong to the mod itself and do not depend on other sword packs for their appearance.

  4. Addon support

Addons can build on the weapon framework, and the Swords addon supplies additional Wood Stone variants.

Use cases

Early-game weapons

Players who want a sword before reaching iron can craft wood and stone options from materials gathered in the first stages of a survival world.

Modded server with Better Combat

Server owners who already run Better Combat can add Stick n' Stone so the extra weapons use the same combat system.

Who it’s for: Survival players who want more sword options early in a world, and server owners who run Better Combat and want the same weapon set on the server.
