Players who want decorative mob displays can use Statue, a Mobs mod where a mob head placed on a slab becomes a statue that reacts to being struck.
What it does
A statue is built from a mob head placed in a slab position. Breaking the slab after the statue has been killed drops the head back. Armor stands can also be dressed with a vanilla mob head by right-clicking them, so the same display can be made without a slab.
Several mobs gain their own interaction. A shulker can be opened and closed, and it drops one to three shulker shells. A slime or a magma cube can be resized, dropping slimeballs or magma cream in amounts from one up to six. A wolf can be made to sit or stand, and it drops bones when it does.
Statue requires the Mob Head MLDEG datapack to be installed on the server. Only the server needs the mod, so players can join without installing it, though the client may add it. It is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, and its files target 1.20 – 1.21.4 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.

How it compares
Mob Heads Collection is server required with client optional, under the MIT License, but it is not open source and targets 1.21.6 – 26.1.2, so it does not overlap with Statue's version range. Shulkers Drop Two Shells is also server required with client optional, is open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.20.1 – 26.3, which includes the shell drop of two shulker shells that Statue handles differently. Craftable Mob Heads is server required with client optional, under a Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license, and is for 1.21.4.
