Stacked Armor Trims

by ApfelRauber

Players who want more armor trim patterns on their gear can use Stacked Armor Trims, which lets several trims be combined on one set of armor.

FabricForgeQuiltClient and serverCustom license1.20 – 1.20.4

What it does

Stacked Armor Trims adds a larger selection of custom armor trims to the game, so armor pieces can carry more trim options than vanilla allows. The mod is built for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, and the Fabric API must be installed alongside it on Fabric. Files cover game versions 1.20 – 1.20.4, and the latest Forge build targets 1.20.1.

Both the server and every player need the mod, because the client and server environment means both sides must run it. A vanilla client can still join a server that runs the mod, but it only renders the newest armor trim. Snapshot builds are published as well. The mod is released under a custom license and is not open source, and the author notes that it has not been tested with every other mod, so incompatibilities should be reported through the issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Many armor trims

Several custom trims can be applied to armor, extending the choice beyond the trims in the base game.

  2. Stacked trim rendering

Trims are rendered together on the same armor piece, so the combined look shows on the model.

  3. Vanilla client compatibility

A vanilla client can join a server running the mod, though only the newest armor trim is drawn for that player.

  4. Modpack use

Modpack makers may include the mod in their packs with credit to the author.

Questions

Does Stacked Armor Trims need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, so it must be installed next to Stacked Armor Trims on Fabric.

Does a server need the mod for players to join?

Players can join a server running the mod without it, but they only see the newest armor trim. Both the server and the players must run the mod for the full trim set.

Which game versions have Stacked Armor Trims files?

Files exist for 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3 and 1.20.4. The latest Fabric and Quilt files target 1.20.1, and the latest Forge file also targets 1.20.1.
