SplashScreen

by GrosseSauce

SplashScreen replaces the Minecraft launch splash with a custom image, and players can set its size and whether the picture keeps its shape.

What it does

Before the game window opens, the mod shows a splash image chosen by the player in place of the default logo. Its size can be changed by a multiplier or set as an exact width and height, and a switch decides whether the image keeps its original proportions. The mod runs on Fabric and only changes what the player sees at startup, so nothing on a server is affected.

SplashScreen is a Fabric mod, so Fabric API is required and must be installed beside it. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional; with them installed, the settings can be opened from the mod list. The code is open source under the MIT License, and public source and issue links are available.

Files are published for 30 game versions 1.16.5 – 1.21.11, with 1.1.1 as the latest file for 1.21.11, released on 2025-03-30. The mod was first published on 2025-03-29.

Key features

  1. Custom launch image

The image shown while Minecraft starts can be replaced with a picture of the player's choice.

  2. Size multiplier

The splash image can be scaled by a multiplier so it fills more or less of the screen.

  3. Exact width and height

Precise width and height values can be entered when a fixed size is needed instead of a multiplier.

  4. Keep aspect ratio

A switch controls whether the image keeps its original proportions when resized, and it is off by default.

Use cases

Personal launcher look

A player who wants a distinct startup screen can swap in their own artwork without editing game files.

Stream or showcase setup

Creators who record their launches can set a fixed size so the splash fits the same frame each time.

Who it’s for: Players who want to change the startup screen on a Fabric installation. Because the mod is client-side only, server owners do not need to install it.
