Spartan Shields [Unofficial]

by sanufsoii1

Spartan Shields, an unofficial Fabric port of the Forge mod by ObliviousSpartan, adds over 60 shield variants that players can craft and upgrade.

FabricClient and serverApache License 2.01.20.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Shields are crafted across the vanilla material tiers Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite, and additional modded material tiers are included. Variants range from quick, lightweight bucklers to tower shields built for maximum damage mitigation, and each shield has its own stats and special combat mechanics.

Shields can be upgraded with custom enchantments such as Spikes, Payback and Unyielding. Bashing an enemy deals damage and can knock it back or interrupt its attack, and bashes can stun aggressive mobs, which moves combat past plain timed blocking. Pairing a specialized shield with a favorite weapon suits tank, brawler or high-mobility playstyles.

The mod is an unofficial port and is not endorsed by the original author. It is distributed for Fabric only, across 3 release versions, 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.11. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Over 60 shield variants

The shield set covers tower shields, bucklers and many more forms, each with its own defensive profile.

  2. Shield bash mechanic

Bashing enemies deals damage, inflicts knockback and disrupts their attacks, turning shields into an offensive tool.

  3. Custom enchantments

Enchantments such as Spikes, Payback and Unyielding can be applied to shields to change how they perform.

  4. Balanced progression

Defensive gear advances through the same material tiers as weapons and armor, so upgrades stay in step.
