skin overrides
by rosebud
With skin overrides, a player can swap the skin or cape shown on their own character or on any other player's, from a dedicated overrides screen.
What it does
The overrides screen is reached from Mod Menu or with the overrides key, which is set to the letter key by default. From that screen a player can configure, add or remove overrides, and any player's skin or cape can be replaced with a chosen texture. The mod is used for roleplay, skin artwork and similar work where a character's appearance has to change quickly.
A personal library keeps a collection of skins and capes, so switching between a few looks takes one selection. A library override can be shared with other online players. When the mod is also installed on a server, a library override is visible to everyone on that server, including players who do not have the mod, and changing the skin from inside the mod updates it for all online players. Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric and Quilt. The mod runs on Fabric and Quilt and is published for 1.14.4 – 26.3, with 2.7.1+26.3 for 26.3 as the latest file, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, which is open source.
