Simplest Scythes adds a tiered scythe that tills a 3x3 area, letting farmers work fields faster in the middle and late stages of a world.
What it does
A scythe works like a hoe but covers a 3x3 area in one action, so a player can till a whole plot without walking each row. Beyond tilling, scythes are also used to harvest seeds and keep soil in use, which makes the repeated steps of farming noticeably quicker.
To obtain a scythe, a player first has to find a new smithing template and use it on a hoe at a smithing table, applied with the matching material. The template turns up mostly in weaponsmith, toolsmith and armorer houses in villages, and less often in regular houses.
The mod runs on NeoForge only, for game versions 1.21.1 – 26.1.2 across five release versions, and it is released under the MIT License. Client and server both need it, so every player on a server that runs it must also have it installed. Ports to Fabric and back-ports to older versions are not planned by the author, who usually works on NeoForge alone.
