SimplesorterR
by Zzai
With SimplesorterR, a press of R sorts the open inventory or container, and the mod runs on the client alone.
What it does
Pressing R while a screen is open sorts its items, and the sort order follows the Creative Mode tab order, including modded items. The config file sets a custom tab order and a list of pinned items that always sort first. Partial stacks of the same item are merged into full stacks, and hotbar slots stay where they are.
Sorting works by simulating clicks, so only the client needs the mod and servers run without it. The optional sortInventoryWhenNoScreen setting also sorts the player main inventory with R when no screen is open. Changes to the JSON config are picked up without restarting the game, applying to the next sort. The mod requires Fabric Language Kotlin and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 – 26.3 and the latest Fabric and NeoForge files at 3.6.1 for 26.3. The code is not open source and is under All rights reserved, with public links for the source and the issue tracker.
Key features
Auto stack merging
Partial stacks of the same item are consolidated into full stacks, which frees inventory slots.
Creative tab sorting
Items are arranged by Minecraft's Creative Mode tab order, and modded items follow the same order.
Pinned items
A config list keeps chosen items at the front of the sorted inventory, and tab priority can be adjusted in the same file.
Shift drag and container shortcuts
Shift drag quick-moves every slot passed over, Space double-click moves a whole container's contents, and V double-click moves only items the container already holds.
Slot locking and drop
Alt-click locks a slot and shows an overlay, and Caps Lock double-click drops all identical items in an inventory.
