Simple Durability HUD
by StutelYT
Simple Durability HUD shows a small durability counter on screen for the armor, main-hand item and other gear a player is holding.
What it does
The HUD reads the durability of worn armor and the item in the main hand, then draws a readable counter with bars. Labels adjust to the item type: blocks are tracked for pickaxes, axes and shovels, hits for swords and weapons, and durability for armor, bows and everything else. A player can drag the display anywhere on screen, resize it with the mouse wheel, and open an in-game editor with the O key to change its position, scale and colors. Settings are written to a config file automatically, so the layout persists between sessions.
The mod is a Forge build with the latest file, 1.2, published for 1.20.6. It runs only on the client, so a server does not need it and players can join without installing it. The code is not open source and the mod is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Armor and held item counters
Durability of worn armor and the item in the main hand is shown together in a single compact display.
Item-aware labels
The label changes with the item: blocks for pickaxes, axes and shovels, hits for swords and weapons, durability for everything else.
Draggable and resizable HUD
The display can be moved with the mouse to any position on screen and scaled with the mouse wheel.
RGB color support
Colors can be chosen from RGB settings, and an optional rainbow mode shifts the glow of the display over time.
Critical durability warning
When an item drops below 10% durability, its text flashes white so the player notices before the item breaks.

Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Protecting favorite gear
A player who wants to see a tool or armor piece wear down before it breaks can keep the counter visible during long fights.
Who it’s for: Players who want to track gear durability at a glance without opening the inventory, on single-player worlds and multiplayer servers alike, since only the client needs the mod.
How it compares
GTRK Armor HUD is a Forge option for 1.20.1 under the MIT License and is also client-side only. ArmorStats is client-side only as well, but it covers Fabric and Forge and is released under All rights reserved. Customizable Max Durability is open source under the MIT License and runs on both client and server, so servers must install it as well.
