Silly's Crossbow Fix

by sillyygoober

Silly's Crossbow Fix is a client-side Fabric mod that corrects how a crossbow slows the player after it is loaded.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21 – 1.21.8

What it does

The mod addresses a longstanding bug with crossbows, where a player stays slowed down after the crossbow is charged and reloaded, until the right mouse button is released. With the fix, player speed returns to normal as soon as the crossbow finishes charging, without waiting for the button to be released. The mod targets Fabric and covers Minecraft 1.21 – 1.21.8, across 9 release versions, with files published for each. Only the client needs it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Immediate speed recovery

Player speed returns to normal right after the crossbow finishes charging, instead of lasting until the button is released.

  2. Toggleable automatic reloading

An option lets the player switch between automatic reloading and the toggle-to-reload behavior.

  3. Lightweight client fix

The mod is small and runs only on the client, changing nothing on the server side.
