SGrave

by Sul4ur

When a player dies, SGrave places a grave at the spot where the items dropped, and the grave holds the inventory until it is recovered.

What it does

Graves are generated on death and store the dropped items inside, so nothing is scattered on the ground. The mod is a data pack packaged as a mod, and it works without changing the game's code. Graves are mostly invulnerable, so lava and explosions do not destroy the items inside. A grave glows and can be seen through walls, and a player can walk through it because its hitbox does not block movement. A default grave despawns after 90 minutes, and the config allows a 45 minute despawn instead.

After a grave spawns, the exact location is announced to the player in chat, in a notice that includes the grave's ID and the player's name. The grave ID matters when several graves exist, and a missing ID or name is a reason to report the problem. When a player reaches the location, a head lies on the ground with a text display showing the grave's ID and design. A grave is broken by sneaking and left clicking where the items drop.

The config includes a command that locates a grave by its position in the history: value 1 for the last grave, 2 for the second last and 3 for the third last. Players and operators can use the command. The mod can be configured in many ways and can run alongside other data packs. It is compatible with plugin loaders such as Spigot and PaperMC, and the author notes that the following game rules must be set for graves to work as described. The mod is completely free and is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license.

Key features

  1. Protected grave storage

Items are kept in a grave that is mostly invulnerable to lava and explosions, instead of being scattered.

  2. Visible, walkable graves

Graves glow and show through walls, and their hitbox lets players walk through them.

  3. Location announcements

The exact grave location is announced in chat with the grave ID and the player's name.

  4. Configurable despawn and recovery

The default despawn is 90 minutes and can be changed to 45 minutes, and a command finds the last three graves.

What the author says

Make sure you read the whole documentation! With this data pack (which is also packaged as a mod), instead of just yeeting your items out of your inventory, all of them will be stored inside a safe place called grave.
