Server Announce
by John-Paul-R
Server Announce is a Fabric server-side mod that sends chat messages to players when scheduled times pass or on a repeating interval.
What it does
Scheduled messages can fire once after a set duration following server start, repeat at a fixed interval, or cycle through a group of messages one per interval. Single messages and message groups can both be used on a timer, and new entries can be added while the server runs. Messages use the same text format as Minecraft's tellraw command, so quoting and JSON colors such as gold work as they do in tellraw, and generators like MinecraftJson produce text that the mod accepts.
The mod is configurable for servers that want simple recurring notices, such as rules reminders or event announcements. Commands that start with serverannounce require operator level 4. Server owners can trigger scheduled messages immediately, which resets the timers to the current time, a feature the author describes as mainly useful for testing newly added messages. Server Announce runs on Fabric in modern Minecraft Java Edition versions, released under the MIT License and open source, with files covering 1.18.2 – 1.21.1.
Key features
One-time delayed messages
A message can run once after a chosen duration, counted from when the server started.
Repeating messages
A single message or a message group can repeat at a fixed interval set in the configuration.
Cycling message groups
A group of messages is shown in turn, one per interval, and then starts again from the first.
Tellraw-style formatting
Message text follows the tellraw JSON format, including color options, so output matches built-in commands.
Immediate trigger
Scheduled messages can be sent at once, with all timers restarting from the current time.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server Announce suits server owners who want to post recurring notices, rules or event reminders in chat. Players join without installing anything, because the environment is server-side only.
How it compares
Advanced Chat is also a Fabric server-side mod under the MIT License, with files for 1.19.3 – 26.3, so it covers newer versions than Server Announce. BetterTellraw is server-side and MIT-licensed as well, but it also runs on Quilt and covers 1.17 – 26.2. SkiesJoinMessages is server-side under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and targets 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, focusing on join messages rather than timed announcements.
