ScreenshotFeatures
by kidofcubes
ScreenshotFeatures is a Fabric client mod that gives screenshots extra controls, especially when shaderpacks are active, through Iris.
What it does
Taking a screenshot with shaders enabled is the main purpose here. Depth of field can be set by hand, and a lock keeps the current focus distance, which suits use alongside autofocus. Client-side time and weather settings can be applied to the local singleplayer world, so a scene can be recreated the same way each time. Settings appear under Ingame Tools, and a Screenshot Viewing tab lets a picture be dragged in for inspection.
Each saved image carries metadata: location, time, field of view and the shaderpack in use. The metadata is embedded in image files under the key screenshotfeatures as formatted JSON. Hashes (MD5, SHA-256 and XXH32) are recorded for the active shaderpack, including git commit diffs when the pack sits in a git repository, and zip archives can be hashed as well. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and needs Fabric API, Iris Shaders, MaLiLib and Mod Menu. It runs on the client alone, and the server does not need it.
Builds cover 1.21.6 – 26.2 across five release versions, with 2.0 for 26.2 as the latest Fabric file, published in the beta channel on 2026-08-12. The author describes the feature set as early stage, so some controls may not behave as expected.
Key features
Shader screenshot capture
Screenshots taken while a shaderpack is active are captured with the pack's settings and render state kept intact.
Depth of field controls
Focus distance can be adjusted manually or locked at the current value, with a simpler depth of field setting for quick changes.
Projection matrix pulling
Enabling pull reads the current projection matrix values into the editor, and an override can change the configured values in place.
Aspect ratio lock
With the option enabled, changing width or height scales the other value to keep the ratio, for example 16:9 from 32 by 18.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
